A central aspect of patristic literature is the use, and ongoing reuse,
of biblical and secular texts. Tracing the movements and spread of such
materials has often been the subject of study: Biblindex
(http://www.biblindex.mom.fr/) provides an excellent example of such
work, which began on paper and is now a digital resource. The Sharing
Ancient Wisdoms (SAWS) project (http://www.ancientwisdoms.ac.uk/)
explored the use of RDF ontologies to express the relationships between
texts; the purpose of the paper is to present the SAWS ontology, and to
encourage others to use and develop it.
