Ioannis Papadogiannakis - Aspects of Question-and-Answer Literature in Late Antiquity: Ambrosiaster, Anastasius of Sinai and Ps. Athanasius

Question-and-answer literature has emerged as an exciting field of research that can help illuminate a wide range of issues from contemporary debates, modes of instruction, exegetical practices to ancient notions of authorship, and editorial practices. The focus of this workshop is some extremely influential collections from Ambrosiaster, Anastasius of Sinai and Ps. Athanasius addressing cumulatively the compositional methods of these collections, some of the issues that arise in them, the hitherto unexplored relationship between them (Anastasius and Ps. Athanasius), and the ways in which they have yet to be understood.
