Chromatius of Aquileia is usually deemed to have died in 407/408 CE. The author of this paper presents and discusses a new source, which clearly shows that Chromatius was still alive in 415 CE, and that he expressed a positive judgement on Pelagius's orthodoxy at the Synod of Diospolis. From this surprising discovery several consequences may be drawn which substantially challenge many current opinions.
