René Roux - The Reception of St. Augustine in Contemporary Theology of Religions. A Few Remarks.


Augustine’s thought has been variously interpreted in contemporary theology of religions. Through some selected examples (e.g. Radhakrishna, Rahner, Knitter, Hick), the paper aims at showing intentions and limits of these contemporary readings and suggests a more constructive approach to Augustine’s views on other religions.
