Susanna Elm: Augustine the Economist

Augustine of Hippo was a skilled administrator and, according to Possidius, a hard working judge. Might aspects of this side of his duties as bishop be detected in the way he formulated theological concerns? Further, would not a man as observant as Augustine have discovered aspects of human nature familiar to those of us today, who are interested in the work of behavioral economists?
