Simon Birol: The compilation of Syriac monastic miscellaneous manuscripts: Jacob of Sarug's memre 'On the Solitaries'"

Differences in the formation and structure of monastic miscellaneous manuscripts in Syriac language have not been studied quite deeply, however, the retracement of these documents could reveal why specific monastic texts were included resp. left out by the copyists of different centuries and how did they understand or interpret a specific text.For this aim, the transmission of the writings "On the Solitaries" by Jacob of Sarug - an author that is in first instance not famous for his monastic writings or teachings - will be given as an example.
