The Cappadocians state that the Spirit is manifested by the Son. Their theology is based on the distinction between immanence and economy. Pneumatological manifestation is analysed from the point of view of this fundamental distinction. The immanent character of the Son's role in the procession of the third Person is connected to the development of the Pneumatological dimension of the relationship of the Father and Son. This theological improvement came as a result of the debate with the Pneumatomachians.
